Notion Reading List with Note-Taking and Stats Tracker

The Notion Reading List with Note-Taking and Stats Tracker is an easy-to-use and intuitive template designed to help you track your reading progress and take notes. It has four interconnected databases: Books, Stats & Goals, Authors, and Essences.

Dashboard

The Dashboard section allows you to easily navigate to the book you are reading now or to the databases to make changes.

• Reading Now and Up Next views of the Books database show you your current and upcoming reads.
• Reading Statistics section displays your reading statistics and recently finished books.

Adding a New Book

Creating a new book is simple:

1. Go to the Books page.
2. Use any of the provided views to create a new record.
3. By default, all new books will have an Inbox status, unless you’ve added them to a specific stage in the board view. You can change the status of a book by dragging and dropping it between stages or changing the status property directly.
4. To fill up the book page, copy the book's title and subtitle to their corresponding fields, assign the book to a writer in the Authors database, add the total page count, and add a cover image.

Yearly Goals

The Notion Reading List template features yearly goals, where you can set targets and measure performance.

• To set goals, go to the Stats & Goals database and edit the Books Goal and Pages Goal properties.
• The only two fields you need to fill so the system can calculate your statistics and progress are On Page, which tracks your current page, and Date, which determines whether the book has been read this year or not.

Note Taking

Making notes while reading non-fiction books allows you to better understand and retain the information, relate it to other knowledge you have, and easily find and reference specific points later on.

• The Book template features an Essences linked database to store the most valuable information from the book.
• You can categorize essences by type, such as Lifehacks, Interesting, Quotes, Funny, and Data.
